Host a Party

Want to share your love for canning with friends and family? Each summer, we designate a week to have our cross-country Can-a-Thon and this year we’re kicking off the festivities during National Can-It-Forward Day on Saturday, August 13th with a full day of LIVE streaming caning demonstrations.

1: Pick a location with a working stovetop and some counter space to host your event from August 13th to August 20th.

2. Invite your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors via Facebook, Evite or Pingg (we like these services because they track RSVPs).

3. Register with Canning Across America so we can all share in the canning fun.

4. Connect with us! Join in the conversation, share photos and canning stories.   Facebook

    Several of my friends and I have devoted this summer to learning how to make and can homemade jams. In May we made strawberry jam. In June we made blueberry jam. In July we made peach jam. In August our plan is to make pear preserves, and in September, we plan to make apple preserves.

    We are having a blast! About six of us get together and work on the projects and then share the results. Even our Japanese friends are participating.
